Thursday Vintage Thingie

Long Time NO SEE, sorry to have disappeared but we have had some health issues for the past 8 months. Things seem to be going good now so I am back online. No pics for this, check my Valentines Day post, that is my Vintage Thingie, I found it at the local thrift shop and just couldn't pass it up. I THINK IT IS BRAND NEW AND WAS PUT AWAY WITHOUT EVER BEING USED. :) I AM THRILLED WITH IT. As you can see, so is our cat. We had a little fight over who really owns the afghan, guess who won?????

IT IS GREAT TO BE BACK, can't wait to check out everyone's treasures this week.

Sorry you have been ill, but thankful things are better. If you use your imagination, pictures are not necessary.

I'm so sorry you have been ill, and hope your recovery continues. The afghan below is just gorgeous..I'm a crocheter and that took an awful lot of work and even more work joining it together. You got a great buy. Happy VTT..hopt your weekend is a lovely one.

It reminds me of a trip-around-the-world quilt. So colorful! Lovely that you rescued it from the thrift shop and are enjoying it so much! Hope your illness is all behind you now.

Of course it belongs to the cat! They are the true masters of our houses!

The afghan is an amazing find for $3. It makes me sad to think that someone spent so much time and $$$ on something so pretty and someone in the family didn't appreciate it enough to keep it just for those reasons. But Oh Well, lucky you and lucky afghan...now it's appreciated...by your cat, too. Glad you are back and better.

If anyone wants something fun and inexpensive to collect and has lots of space, then afghans are ideal. I have seen so many at thrift stores for just a few dollars, but usually in colors I would never use.

I actually bought a baby afghan for my previous cat. He loved to knead afghans.

Really pretty! Your cat is a beauty too...the kitties always like to lie on something soft. Take care and feel better.

Hi Jeanne, I couldn't respond your comment on my blog, Blogger didn't give me your email address. I used mainly perle fine Sassa lynne threads. That is the same size as perle 8. They are hand dyeed and beautiful to work with. I also use DMC floss, but not so often.
If you go to my blog, there is a list of Etsy shops in the sidebar. Myfanwy has those Sassa lynne perle fine in her shop.
Good luck with you wool quilt embroidery.
