Vintage Thingie Thursday

This weeks post is all about my Dad, he would have been 91 yesterday, he died 2 years ago and I MISS HIM EVERY DAY. These are some of the photos I have of him. They are precious to say the least. Thanks for sharing with me. He is the one kneeling on the far left with the calf and he is the older boy in the family photo. :) And that is him with his favorite two things when he was young, his gun and his dog. :) He always was an animal lover. :)

Oh, what great vintage photos of someone special. I just love looking at old photos, they seem to tell stories the photos of today do not.

Thanks for sharing these special treasures with us today, have a great VTT.

That picture of your Dad with the gun and his dog is precious! I understand how you feel. I was Daddy's Girl, and he was my hero. You're lucky you have such great photos of him, and I'm sure lots of wonderful memories!

It's great that you have pictures of your dad. So many people who were children in that time have no photos.

This post really touched me today. I got a call about my dad who is 90 yesterday. He insisted that he was fine to take the trip to Italy with my brother and I was not a happy camper knowing that it wasn't a good idea. To say the least, the call was about daddy who was now in a hospital in Italy. I was so helpless. Good news is that he is not in a pneumonia state, which is very common for him. Bad news is that my brother has decided to fly him to New York today as I wait in anticipation to see daddy again. I didn't agree with moving him while he is sick and frail. I just have to hope for the best. Hold on to your lovely memories of vintage photos. I am big on collecting them. Through the years, I have sat daddy down to tell me about each one, and I have many, and I jotted his stories down behind each picture. Please stop by and visit and browse for a while. I have a very similar photo of my great aunt and my grandpa stading with some calves on their farm. Very precious pictures indeed.

My dad is 88 and still with me. I know I will miss him terribly when he's gone. So I can so feel for you.
