Hi, I am married (3o years WOW THAT LONG) we have 3 Daughters, live in a big old farmhouse in what I like to call "God's Country" the heart of farm country, the hills of southwestern Wisconsin. Our Daughters are all grown up, they come and go (don't get me started on that) we have horses and like to play with them when we have time. We both work full time, and don't have alot of time to spend doing fun stuff, I keep telling him I need to retire so I have more time for my hobbies, he tells me "Honey you retire and you won't have any hobbies because you won't have any money" HE ISN'T MUCH FUN!!!!! I hand quilt (Not very well), hand dye wool, hand applique, love to read, love to listen to music, love to putz around the farm and have lots more interests, sort of the Jill of all trades, master of none. :) So get your favorite cup of coffee, tea or whatever, sit in your favorite rocking chair, bring along your hand quilting needles and enjoy MY LIFE IN GENERAL. Glad to meet you. Come and visit any time.

Hi :). Thanks for coming by my blog and website. I love your "vintage thingie thursdays"!
I think it's awesome that your daughter is getting into jewelry-making. It is an addiction lol. When I am looking to pick up old jewelry pieces, I try to stay away from plastic of any kind. Some plastic can be sneaky and look like glass or pearls, so just run your finger around where the hole is. If it is plastic, the coating will come off. I know it sounds mean, but when you want to buy a quality piece, who wants to spend money on garbage lol. Look for glass and good solid metal pieces, even some wood pieces can be fun to work with. I made a really pretty rosary with two different reclaimed necklaces. Sometimes the clasps are the best part of an old necklace, and can be used as focals.
I hope you tell me how her creations are going and if you need any other help, just say hey :)!
Have a wonderful weekend!
